Quick Reference
The build at a glance
Medium is the default BTD6 experience. You'll learn the game's rhythm here โ when ceramic rushes hit, when MOABs spawn, when to upgrade vs save.
The build is similar to Easy but with stronger early game investment. The Dartling's pierce 5 (0-0-5) is the secret weapon: it pops 5 bloons per shot and works on camo.
Step by step
Quincy or Gwen. Gwen's heat-it-up is better for grouped MOABs if you want a relaxed game.
Place a 0-0-0 Dart Monkey on a strong spot. Upgrade to 0-2-0 by round 8, then 0-3-0 (Triple Darts) by round 15. That's 3 darts per shot.
Add a 0-0-0 Bomb Shooter. Get to 2-0-0 (Bigger Bombs) by round 24 โ this is critical for the ceramic rush.
Ceramic + MOAB rounds. Your Triple Dart + Bigger Bombs + Quincy ability will carry you. Don't place new towers yet.
Add a 0-0-0 Dartling Gunner to 0-0-5 (Crossbow). Massive pierce. Place near a curve so bloons stay in range.
Save for 4-0-0 Dartling (MAD). Add a 0-0-0 Village to 0-2-0 for camo + range.
Max the Bomb Shooter to 4-0-0 (MOAB Mauler) and consider 5-0-0 (MOAB Eliminator) if you have the cash.
The classic Medium mistake: upgrading too late. By the time round 24 (60+ ceramics) hits, you want a tier 3+ tower placed. If you're below $2000 going into round 23, you will struggle. The fix: stop spending after round 15 and save aggressively for the Bomb Shooter.
Common mistakes
- Spreading upgrades thin. One maxed tower beats four half-upgraded ones.
- Placing Bomb Shooter in a straight path. Mortars/Bombs work best on curves where bloons group.
- Ignoring Banana Farms. By round 60, you should have 2-3 0-2-0 farms.
- Selling towers after the ceramic rush. Don't โ you need them for round 100 BAD.
