The build at a glance

Contested Territory (CT) is a PvP mode where you capture tiles, defend them, and send bloons to opponents. Tower slots are limited per tile (usually 4-6), so you need compact, effective builds.

The meta:

  • Tier 1-2 tiles: Cheap DPS โ€” Dart, Boomerang, Bomb
  • Tier 3-4 tiles: Sniper + Village for offense
  • Tier 5 tiles: Bomb + Dartling + Sniper (your main defense)
  • Tier 6 tiles (your base): Farms + late-game DPS

Step by step

Pre-game

Pick a hero that works on offense and defense. Etienne's drone hits incoming bloons anywhere on the map.

Round 1-3 (early game)

Capture cheap tiles. Place 1-2 Dart Monkeys on each. Don't over-invest in low-tier tiles.

Round 4-6 (mid game)

Upgrade to tier 3-4 tiles. Place Sniper + Village for offense. Add 1-2 farms to your base.

Round 7-9 (late game)

Push tier 5 tiles. Place Bomb + Dartling + Sniper. These are your main defense.

Round 10+ (end game)

Defend your base with tier 5 towers. Send bloons to opponents via Bloon Sends.

Match end

Win by capturing all enemy tiles OR making the opponent run out of lives on their base.

CT offensive vs defensive builds

Offense (sending bloons): Bloon Sends cost lives but force the opponent to react. Send Fortified MOABs, ZOMGs, or BFBs to overwhelm their defenses.

Defense (holding tiles): Place Sniper + Village on each tier 3-4 tile. This is the meta-defense and will hold against most bloon rushes.

Common mistakes

  • Ignoring low-tier tiles. They're easy to capture and generate income.
  • Over-spending on Bloon Sends. Each send costs lives โ€” sending 3 Fortified MOABs is half your base health.
  • Not defending tier 5-6 tiles. These are your win condition; lose them and you lose the match.
